Key Features of Android
Admin Sep 06, 2023

Android is an operating system for mobile devices based on a modified version of Linux. Originally developed by Android Inc., Android was acquired by Google in 2005, along with its development team and work product. Google wanted Android to be free and open source so that it could run on any type of device, including mobile phones, tablets, and even televisions. Android is open source software that includes the operating system, middleware, and application software. What are you waiting for? Share your thoughts today at the Write For Us Android category.

Best Features

Some of them are-

1. Smart Replies

Automatic recommendation for how to respond to a text message, for example, if a message has a phone number, we can click on it to save or call the contact. This tool offers you suggestions for both answers and actions in relation to the communication. For instance, if someone sends a message asking us to join a meeting, it will prompt us to respond with "yes" or "no" and set a reminder for the meeting in our calendar. If someone sends a message with a location, it will prompt us to open maps to that spot. The smart reply function was first introduced by Gmail and later expanded to Android as well.

2. Sound Amplifier

Users now have native support for the built-in amplifier; previously, we had to download third-party software to achieve the same. With the use of functions like "boost" and "fine-tune" on either one of the ears or both of the headphones, one may hear the sound more clearly and can also boost the sound by fine-tuning it. When there is a lot of background noise, this feature enables the user to hear the music or recorded voice note more clearly.

3. Live Captions

Even if a video doesn't have subtitles, machine learning algorithms can be used to generate live captions for any video you're watching. Pressing the volume button and tapping the live caption subtitles in the volume control will enable or disable live captioning. Once it has been turned on, we can see the live caption, which does not ever require WiFi or Mobile Data, appears at the bottom of the speech being played in the media on your device. To improve the viewing experience, we can also touch the caption box, hold it, and then slide it up or down. If we drag the caption all the way to the bottom, Live Caption will switch off.

4. Dark Mode

The operating system has a dark mode, and the new dark mode supports numerous apps that will cut down on battery drain for OLED phones. The dark theme for Android 10 changes the appearance of Google applications including Google Drive, Google Photos, and Google Calendar to enhance nighttime viewing and reduce strain on users' eyes. It also employs genuine black to extend the battery life. It not only functions with Google apps, but it is also extending its functionality to some third-party programmes like Instagram and Reddit, and the number of programmes that support dark mode programmes is growing daily.
